You should select the file and choose "Set Permissions..." from the Remote menu. Check all the boxes except the Group and Everyone Write boxes to set the permissions to 755.

hi Jim
I'm uploading a cgi script from BigNoseBird. When I try to set the permission for chmod 755 as you suggested, I get this an alert box that says this:
Server response: Site UMASK not understood.
Is that a problem I can solve with Fetch?
Thanks

Try using the "Set Permissions..." command (after the upload) rather than the "Set Upload Permissions..." command. Let me know if that does not work.

In order to make a php guestbook work I need to set permissions via chmod 755 code. If I use -send FTP command- it says that the server doesn't know the command. Do I use the wrong command or should I contact the host for this problem?
