Having an issue with various versions of Fetch connecting to a Microsoft IIS 4 ftp server. The problem is that when creating virtual or actual sites for UPLOAD only, the fetch client returns an error message: "Error: there is no connection in place" I click on OK to clear the message and am actually connected and can upload to the directory. My problem is that ordinary users will be connecting to this and will likely not try to use it after receiving the error message.

For other Mac based clients, I cannot connect at all. PC clients can connect but also receive a 550 error message but are still able to upload.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Is the server running NT 4 Service Pack 6? There's a known issue with that release; the fix is to copy the tcpip.sys file from Service Pack 5, or upgrade to Windows 2000.
