I have been uploading to my several websites at Virgin Freespace for a year now and suddenly I cannot and I get the message...the ftp server dropped the connection. Virgin are clueless to help. Any ideas, it surely must be something very simple?

    Hi,

Are you having a problem with all your websites, or just one?

And if you're having a problem with all off them, are they all hosted out of the same account, or are they hosted out of separate acconts?

One thing to check on is to make sure you're not out of space on the server; if you can, delete some old files you no longer need and then try uploading again. Let us know if that helps or not.

    Thanks,

    Thanks Scott
I will look and see if I have used up all the space. All the web sites are hosted from the same account. I have been in touch with the technicians at Virgin and they can access. You would think though that they would know if the space was full and tell me ?
    Cheers

    Hi Peter,

If they're all hosted from the same account then definitely check for being out of space. Yes, you would think Virgin would tell you that, but you never know...

If that turns out not to be the problem, let us know and we will help you investigate further.

I am having the same exact problem. The issue is not on the FTP server end because nobody else is having that problem. Ironically, the problem began right after I purchased the software. Everything worked great during the trial period.

    Hi Zooty Zoot,

It's hard to say what the problem might be without more information.

After you try to connect and you get the error message, could you please choose Fetch Transcript from the Window menu, copy the entire contents of the transcript window, and paste them into a reply to this message?

We'll take a look and try to figure out where the problem lies.

    Thanks,
