Fetch 4.0.3 running in Panther 10.3.1.

I'm getting consistent "access denied" errors from Windows servers. I can initially login and navigate, even create a single remote directory, but uploading results in "access denied", then the session is screwed from there on.

I am NOT getting any errors when using FTP at the command line with the same login/password.

I'd very much like to sort this out, command-line FTP is something of a nuisance. What is Fetch likely to be mangling that the Panther command-line FTP isn't?

Right, looks like PASV mode is the problem - not working even with the firewall turned off. Unchecking PASV fixes it (with firewall on again).
