I cannot get my mac to log me into my fetch account. it works maybe 1 out of every 20 times. the error message is that the server rejects the password and or username.

does it have to do with wireless router being different on occasion?

please help, I can't get anything done without access to fetch

    Hi,

We'd like some more information to help diagnose the problem.

After you try to connect and you get the error message, could you please choose Fetch Transcript from the Window menu, copy the entire contents of the transcript window, and paste them here? We'll take a look and try to figure out what's going on.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

    I would try two things.

First, update to Fetch 5.1, and see if the problem goes away. (It's a free upgrade for you.) You can download it from http://www.fetchsoftworks.com/downloads.html . If for some reason you don't want to update to Fetch 5.1, at least update to Fetch 5.0.5, which is available from the same page.

If that does not help, check and see if your password is stored in your keychain, and if it is, delete it. It's possible the incorrect password has been stored in the keychain.

To do this, open the Application folder, open the Utilities folder inside the Applications folder, and open the Keychain Access application. Search Internet passwords for an entry for www.yogathree.com . If you find one, delete it. Then try connecting again in Fetch.

If neither of these suggestions fixes the problem, you should contact the maintainer for the server, and discuss the problem with them - the problem may be on the server end.

    Thanks,

hi i followed your steps, and I have been more succesful in logging on after resintalling and deleting the password from the keychain. now i can log on 1 out of every 10 times. here is the error message. any other ideas?
called the server, they had nothing to say.
i am using a wireless router, i travel around with my mac a lot hooking up to different servers. any chance the constant change in connection is toying with fetch ability to connect?

    Hi,

No, travelling around and using different networks should not affect your ability Fetch's ability to connect to the server. Here's what I would suggest trying next.

The next time you successfully connect to the server: after the connection is successful, and with the transfer window for the server in front, go to the Shortcuts menu and choose "New Shortcut."

The New Shortcut dialog will appear, already filled out with the information for the connection to the server. Don't change anything except the contents of the Name field - enter a name that will be meaningful if you don't like the default one.

The next time you want to connect to this server, use the shortcut - either by choosing it from the heart pop-up menu in the New Connection dialog, or by choosing it from the Shortcuts menu.

If you are still having problems connecting after doing that, it really seems likely to be a server problem.

    Thanks,
