    Is there a way to view the modified folders by date?

    The actual file on the server shows the actual time it was uploaded. But on Fetch view list, it doesn't change the folder date, only the subfiles.

    It is imperative that i view the latest files uploaded/modified from fetch, but i can't seem to do that by sorting by date.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

    If I understand correctly, your problem is that a folder's modification date does not change when you upload a file to it, is that correct?

    First, try doing the following:

    * Go to the Fetch menu, and choose Preferences.
    * Click the Miscellaneous tab.
    * Check the "Ignore file list cache" checkbox.

    Fetch always tries to show the current modification date for both files and folders as told to it by the server. While Fetch occasionally uses cached file lists to speed up operations, when you upload a new file, Fetch should get new file list information from the server. But checking the "Ignore file list cache" will make sure Fetch always has the latest file list information.

    Unfortunately, doing that still may not fix the problem, because some FTP servers do not update the modification dates of folders in a timely fashion; even though Fetch asks the server "what is the current modification date?" the server basically lies to Fetch and gives it an outdated modification date. There is nothing Fetch can do in this situation; it has no way of knowing the server is giving out of date information when it has asked for current information.

    This problem is much less common when using SFTP; so you should check and see if your server supports SFTP connections, and if so, connect to the server using SFTP instead.

    If I have misunderstood your question, or if you have other questions, please let me know.

    Thanks,

    This was great info as it solved another problem I had... when I upload files the dates change correctly...but when my freelancer at another location does they don't. (but now they do, I choose "Ignore file list cache"). THanks.
