Dates on index site (4 posts)

Seems before my index site would list the file names and dates and I could toggle both either alphabetically or by date. Now my index site only shows the file names. My host company says there should be something in Fetch that I can change so that I can view by date on my index site. Is there some preference in Fetch that I can change so I can view on my index site by name and date?

I am on a Mac running Fetch 5.2.1

    Hi,

Are you referring to the window you see when after you connect to your server?

That is, the window that looks kind of like the screenshot on this page?

    http://www.fetchsoftworks.com/FetchWebHelp/Contents/Windows/TransferWindow.html

Or are you referring to something else?

If you could take a screenshot of the window you are referring to, and send it to us at:

    bb at fetchsoftworks dot com

that would probably be helpful in figuring out what is going on.

(You can take a picture of your screen by pressing Command-Shift-4; that will create a "Picture 1" file on your desktop.)

    Thanks,

You can just go to: http://www.thedesigndepartment.net/files/ to see what I am talking about.

    Hi,

Ah, now I understand; thanks for clarifying that.

The appearance of that list in your web browser is totally controlled by settings on the server. Fetch has no control over how that list appears, because it is not in Fetch; it is generated by the server.

Your host company may have misunderstood, as I did, and thought you were talking about file list you see in the Fetch transfer window.

You'll have to contact them again and ask if they can change the appearance of that list back to the way it was before; be sure to tell them you are talking about the appearance of the list of files in your webbrowser, and ask them to go to the link to see what you're talking about.

Good luck, and please let us know if you have further questions.

    Thanks,
