You could write an AppleScript that would have Fetch check for new files, and then run the AppleScript periodically with a program like iDo Script Scheduler (available at http://www.powerkey.com ).

I need to run an ftp application in the background that will monitor a server directory and download files as they appear.
Will fetch do this?
Or is there a mac application that I should use instead?
thanks for the help
