I've been having difficulty uploading files to my server and continue to get this Error message: "Open Transcript error: -3155". I checked the transcript but don't understand what it means or where it goes wrong. The transcript is enclosed if anyone knows how to decipher it. Any help is appreciated.

I'm not sure why that error is happening. It seems to be timing dependent, as it is not happening on every transfer. You might try unchecking "Use passive mode transfers (PASV)" in the Firewall section of Preferences. Usually having that box checked improves reliability, but unchecking it will change the timing and might help in this case.

I've tried it with and without Passive mode. Same result so far. I've been in contact with my hosting support and they tell me that they're seeing that I have multiple connections open and/or instances of Fetch. They think that Fetch may be failing to close the connections (even though I've "quit" and/or it's showing "disconnected" on my panel). and that the number of connections open is likely the problem.
    Two questions:
    1. Can I set a limit on the number of connections open at any one time within Fetch? My hosting company suggests that I should never have more than 3 open at any given time. (I already have the dialog unchecked which would allow multiple connections, and have also unchecked the "keep connections active" option, but they don't seem to be working).
After trying several options with no change, they have tried a workaround solution of setting a parameter to down my connections (from their end) after 2 minutes. Sporadic results so far - the problem seems to occur less often but still occurs.
    2. Are their any compatability issues that you currently are aware of between the version of OS I'm running (Mac OSX v10.3.7 - fairly recent upgrade for me, but I don't know for sure if the timing of the upgrade is consistent with these current problems) and the version of Fetch I'm running v4.0.3)? And would an older version of Fetch work?

    Thanks for your help

Fetch opens one control connection per transfer window, so you can limit the number of connections by limiting the number of open windows. Data connections are opened as needed, in order to transfer a file or download a file list. Those are closed as soon as the transfer is done, but because of the way TCP networking works they may linger on the server side for 2 minutes before totally going away. So perhaps the problem is that when you are transfering a lot of small files there get to be too many lingering connections. I can't think of a way around that.

I don't know of any compatibility problems with Fetch 4.0.3 and 10.3.7 (or any particular version of OS X).

You might try a different FTP client so see if the problem is Fetch-specific. If it is please let me know.

    Thanks,
