Double-click = Edit (3 posts)

    Hey gang,

Is there an easy way to make it so a double-click on a filename does the same as the Edit button, instead of Get? Or would it be more trouble than it's worth?

I realize double-click=Get makes sense since this is, afterall, an FTP app. Maybe a preference radio button for "Double click is: Get [or] Edit" or something like that would make sense?

    Thanks much!

P.S. Keep up the awesome work! Still the best FTP client IMHO.

    Hi Fritz,

Yes, you can do this with Fetch 5 with the "After transferring a file like this, Edit the file" option in the Transfer Options section of info window.

See the Editing text or image files automatically instead of downloading topic in Fetch Help (or click the link) for more information on how to set this up.

Let us know if you have any more questions regarding this feature. Thanks,

    Scott,

Awesome! Just what I needed. I looked at that, but it was confusing as I'm not (in my thinking) really downloading or transferring the file -- I'm basically using Fetch as a file browser in this case. The transferring and "linking" to my editor all happen nicely behind the scenes. Now that I think about it from Fetch's point of view it totally makes sense.

    Thanks much!
