Hi,
Could you please tell us which version of Mac OS, and which version of Fetch, you are using?
There are certain combinations of Mac OS X and Fetch 5 that may cause downloaded files to not have the right icon.
Thanks,
Scott McGuire

Thanks Scott...
I believe I'm running Mac OS X Version 10.3.9 and Fetch 4.0.3.
But....everything worked fine before. Not sure why it all of a sudden stopped being able to download data to my own Mac.......
Thanks again,
Gregg -

Hi Gregg,
We haven't heard of that problem with 10.3.9 and 4.0.3 before, so I'm not sure what's going on, and I don't know why it would have suddenly started happening.
Could you give Fetch 5.1.1 a try and see if you still have the same problem with it? You can download it from our home page, http://fetchsoftworks.com .
Let us know what you find out. Thanks,
Scott McGuire

My entire office has experienced this same phenomenon on all our Mac's except the one running OS 10.4. I am very curious what the solution to this problem is as well.
Thanks, N

ClfrnGrl2:
The next time you see this problem could you choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu and post the contents? That may help us trouble-shoot the problem.
Also, you might try double-clicking one of the partial download files to see if Fetch can successfully resume the download.
Thanks,
Jim Matthews

Here is the text from the "fetch transcript" window. My co-worker who is on 10.4.8 had no problem dowloading the same file with fetch.

ClfrnGrl2:
It isn't clear why the transfer is stopping at that point. Have you tried choosing Resume Download from the Remote menu? If that does not work could you post that transcript?
Thanks,

I tried Resum Download and this is what the Fetch Transcript said when I got the error message "Fetch could not get "SMUD Safe Home Heating.sitx because the FTP server sent an unexpected response." Hopefully this will be of some help, thanks.

Unfortunately it looks like this server does not support resuming downloads.
You mentioned earlier that all the computers in this office have the problem except for the one running 10.4. Is the 10.4 computer networked in a different way from the others?
One thing you might try is running a different FTP client on your 10.3.9 machine (such as Interarchy or Cyberduck). If they also have a problem that would suggest a networking or server issue.
Thanks,
Jim Matthews

Hello...please excuse my Fetch ignorance.
I am able to upload to and/or delete files from my FTP site using Fetch. However, I cannot successfully download files anymore. Instead, I get these "Fetch Partial Downloads" files on my desktop that are about 700-800 KB in size.
Anyone know why this might be happening? I used to be able to download files without a problem and I don't recall changing any preferences on my Mac or for Fetch because I don't know what I would be doing.
Thanks,
G
