    I am testing Fetch currently.
    Problem:
    I tried to download a MS OFFICE 2008 (For MAC) Word File from our ftp site. Fetch downloaded the file as a Folder containing all the parts that made up the file but did NOT download the file as a usable document.

    I'm running a MAC with operating system MAC OS X 10.5.3
    And running MS OFFICE 2008 for MAC.

    When I went on the site via Firefox I had no problem downloading the file.

    Hi,

    You can fix this problem by doing the following:

    * In Fetch, go to the Fetch menu, and choose Preferences.
    * Click the Download tab.
    * Uncheck the "Allow automatic decoding of downloaded files" checkbox.

    From now on, when you download Microsoft Office 2008 files, they will be downloaded properly.

    Note that this will disable all of Fetch's automatic decoding for downloaded files; if you would like Fetch to continue to automatically decode StuffIt and zip archives when they are downloaded, let me know and I can tell you how to retain that feature but prevent Office 2008 files from being turned into folders (Office 2008 files are actually zip files, and Fetch is accidentally unzipping them).

    We apologize for the inconvenience, and plan to fix this bug in the next version of Fetch so that Office 2008 files are not automatically decoded.

    Please let us know if this does not fix the problem for you or if you have further questions.

    Thanks,

    Scott McGuire
