When I create a connection and make it my default shortcut, Fetch names the shortcut with the server address. When I edit the shortcut name, it no longer functions as a default.

    Am I missing something?

Fetch remembers the default shortcut by name, and it should notice when you rename it -- that's a bug I should fix. In the meantime, you can go to Preferences and select the renamed shortcut to make it the default again.
