More details relating to the above:
Specs are: Mac G4, System 9.1, 56k modem. Earthlink connection.
The only transcript I get before this happens is this:
226-Transfer complete.
226 Quotas offSometimes if I stop the process and refresh file list, it works. Like 1 in 10, though.

Reading a few of the previous postings, I thinK I may hve solved this problem. It involved checking the "use firewall passive mode transfers" box in the prefs. Hopefully the past three days of living hell are over.

What are all the possible reasons the little Fetch dog would run in an endless loop? This is happening to me all the time whenever I try and open a folder, set permissions, etc.
