Hi, I've got a client running OS 9 and Fetch 3.0.3 who gets an Error -20002 upon connecting; the transcript shows a successful connection and the standard message from the server, but that message is cut off and the directory contents are never displayed.

This user's officemates are running Fetch 4 on OS X and have no trouble.

I've set PASV and such but the transcript shows that the connection fails in that error before the server even finishes sending its three lines of text in greeting, so before it attemps to set PASV for instance... it's driving me batty.

    Thanks!

The problem is that the server's message is longer than 255 characters (all on one line), and Fetch 3.0.3 can't handle that. You can fix the problem by breaking the server message into multiple lines, or upgrading the client to Fetch 4.0.3 (which runs fine on Mac OS 9).

    Thanks,
