    Hi, I am downloading a large file from someones ftp and after about 5min I get this message 'Server response: maximum time exceeded - closing'. So then I have to reconnect.

    Any ideas why this is happening?

    It sounds like the server does not allow downloads over 5 minutes. I would try using the Resume Download command in the Remote menu to pick up where the transfer left off.
