I have fetch operating with OS 10.3, I cannot connect to any ftp site without getting the message cannot open data source. But my window says connected. I can connect through Terminal but not fetch.

I'd try changing the setting of the "Use passive mode transfers (PASV)" box in the Firewall section of Fetch Preferences.

    Thanks,

There's more on this in the thread "FTP Site Issues"

You're not the only one going through this.

I have no trouble opening my remote site or most of the folders within it, but a few folders don't open and elicit the "Server response: cannot open data connection" error message. I am not aware of any differences between the folders. I have tried this with PASV set both on and off.

Am using Fetch 4.0.3 with OS 10.3.2 on a G4 with firewall off and connected through a LAN hub and router to a cable system. On my old Mac 7200 (System 8.6) connected to the same LAN, Fetch 3.0.3 works perfectly.

Steve_L: I'd be interested to see the contents of the Fetch Transcript window after these errors.

    Thanks,
