That is an error message from the server.

Check to make sure you have room in your account(s) to upload the jpg file. If you can, delete some files on the server and see if that helps.

If that doesn't seem to be the problem, let us know and we can investigate further.

    Thanks,

I'm having this same problem. I've been using an old version (4.0.3) for a couple years without any problems. Then today I started getting the same "Server response: Failure writing to local file" message. Other happenings today included the little dog running and running and running and getting nowhere. And one message about "the baby died" or something like that.

I'm running OSX 10.3.9 and just uploading simple little jpegs to my webspace. I'm certain it's not because I'm out of room on my webspace.

Thought maybe my old fetch got corrupted, so upgraded to the new 5.whatever version today, but still get the same ""failure writing to local file" message.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

You should contact your server administrator or your ISP support about these problems. Both "Failure writing to local file" and "child died" are server errors that Fetch is just passing along.

It sounds like maybe something has changed recently on the server that is causing these problems.

    Thanks,

I stand corrected. I HAD exceded my webspace. (My ISP just tightened up.....I used to be allowed a LOT more space than I was paying for. They never told anyone they were fixing the oversight on their end. Guess a lot of us were getting away with having more space than we were entitled. That's why the "obvious" answer didn't seem right.)

Just wanted to follow up for clarity. Thanks.

Thanks for the follow up. Sorry to hear your ISP reduced the amount of space you're allowed, though!
