    Hi,

I use Fetch on all three of my computers. Recently, I have been unable to connect from my work iMac, and get this message:

These settings cannot be used because an error has occurred.
    Mac OS error -2147415734

I connected successfully to your fetch softworks site.

The only change I have made recently was to retire my Mac keyboard and connect an MS ergonomic style keyboard.

    Thank you.

    Hi Kim,

That error code indicates a Keychain problem. Here's what I'd recommend doing:

    * Quit Fetch, if it's running.
    * Run the Keychain Access application, which is in the Utilities folder inside your Applications folder.
    * Go to the Keychain Access menu, and choose Preferences.
    * Click on the "First Aid" tab.
    * Make sure both "Synchronize login keychain password" and "Set login keychain as default" are checked.
    * Then go to the Keychain Access menu, and choose Keychain First Aid.
    * In the password field of the Keychain First Aid window, enter your Mac OS X admin password (this should be the same as your Mac OS X login password).
    * Click the Repair radio button.
    * Click the Start button.
    * Once it's done, close the Keychain First Aid window.

    Try Fetch again.

Please let me know if that doesn't fix the problem.

    Thanks,

    Jim,

Thank you so much for your answer. I did as you detailed, but I'm still getting the error.

    I appreciate your help!

    Hi Kim,

The next thing I would try is running Keychain Access and trying to find the password entry for the server you are trying to connect to. Typing part of the hostname in Keychain Access's search field may help you zero in on it.

Once you find that entry, try deleting it, and then running Fetch again.

    Thanks,

I'm getting the same error message. I did the keychain repair AND deleted all the passwords and keychain items associated with the issue. I start Fetch, the message appears and the program freezes.

I've trying to use Fetch on my iMac just bought in March.

    Hi Brent,

If you are sure that you've deleted all the relevant passwords from your keychain the next step would be to delete the entire login keychain and create a new one. Doing this will mean losing everything stored in the keychain, unfortunately, so if you need any passwords stored there you should write them somewhere else before proceeding.

Apple has instructions on removing your login keychain at:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/TA20852?viewlocale=en_US

Please let me know if this does not solve the problem, or if you have any questions.

    Thanks,
