My guess is that your proxy settings are messed up. Choose Preferences from the Customize menu, click on the Firewall tab, and set the Proxy Type pop-up to "None". Can you connect then? If not, could you post the contents of the Fetch Transcript window?
Thanks,
Jim Matthews

I'm using Mac OS X 10.3 and I keep getting this error for any ftp connection I try. I tried a ftp connection thru terminal and it works fine.
What am I doing wrong ?
Thanks, Tony
