Exclusion list for Mirror? (4 posts)

    Gentlefolk,

I'm trying to keep my Rails app in sync with my repository locally. Yet, I don't want to mirror some files, such as ".DS_Store" or my production logs. Is there a way to associate an exclusion list with the Mirror command.

    Hi Andrew,

I apologize for the long delay in replying to your question.

Currently, there is not a way to exclude arbitrary files from a Mirror operation in Fetch, sorry.

You can, however, exclude all files and folders that begin with a period, which would take care of .DS_Store files (and Subversion folders). However, this would also exclude files such as .htaccess files, I don't know if that would matter to you. You can do this by opening the Fetch Preferences, clicking the Obscure tab, and checking the "Do not upload dot items in folders" checkbox.

    Thanks,

    Scott,

Thank you for your answer. After reviewing the problem, I think a combination of your "obscure" settings and staging synchronization software can probably do what I need it to do.
