I get the same error when trying to download using Cute FTP as well. It is obviously an issue when FTP'ing. As we receive lots of files and only some have the trailing space it is not an option to ask the sending company to check all of the files that are sent. This is why I would like to know if there is anyway within fetch to over-ride this error and to allow the download of files that have a space or null character at the end of them.

I would try selecting the file in the file list and then pressing the Get... button with the Option key pressed. It should prompt you for the name of the file to get, and should be filled in with the name of the selected file. Make sure that the trailing space is there, and then press OK. Does that work?
Thanks,

Jim,
I did as you requested and when using the Option key the file name is displayed but I can't tell if the space is still there. I tried to download and recieved the same error message. I even deleted the last few characters and re-added them and still got the error message. This happens in both 3.0.3 and 4.0.3 -

Could you post the contents of the Fetch Transcript window after you try this with Fetch 4.0.3?
Thanks,

It looks as if this FTP server won't let you access files with trailing spaces. Your only option may be to access the account using some other tool (e.g. ssh), or ask the server administrator to rename the files for you.
Thanks,

I am unable to download files that have a trailing space. Other than go through each file and rename before downloading is there anyway Fetch can download these files. Each time it comes across such a file it says
'Server response : No such file or directory.
