With some dialogs, including New Connection, in front in Fetch, and Fetch in front on Mac OS X 10.0.2, I find that the mouse is uncontrollable. Hardware is a Dual 533.

I have so far been unable to move the pointer into the problem dialogs. With large enough movements, it is possible to get to clear desktop or some other underlying application window, and click to bring another app in front. Then I can position the mouse over the place in the dialog I want to click, and a click works.

When the mouse pointer is over the problem dialog, it won't move at all with just mouse movement. When I move the mouse a long distance and click, the pointer moves somewhere...once that somewhere is outside the dialog, the situation reduces to the previous case.

Fetch is not the only application I've seen do this, although it is the only one doing it at the moment.

Thanks for Version 4, Jim. "The check is almost in the mail"...I want to see the solution to this problem first.

It appears that some prior or simultaneous condition was present when I had the mouse pointer problems. This morning, with Fetch run first thing after an overnight shutdown, I am not seeing the issue.

I will attempt to find out what that condition was.

I have exactly the same problem of mouse jerkiness and uncontrollability with Fetch 4.0 on a 733 MHz G4 running 10.0.3 (and 10.0.2 before that). The problem is 100% reproducible and pretty much prevents use of this valuable software.

Are you using the Apple Pro Mouse that comes with the PowerMac G4, or some other mouse?

    Thanks,
