Does the error message say something about a server being disconnected? I've seen that error a few times; I belive it was fixed in a later release of Mac OS.

No, there are no network-level error messages, just a "the application XYZ has unexpectedly quit".

Another question -- have you noticed any connection between using AppleScript to script Fetch and the crashes?
Thanks for the help,

I don't use AppleScript to drive any Fetch functions.

Thanks again -- I'll see what I can do.

This is one of those annoying errors that only happens sometimes, not always.
If I run Fetch 4.0 and then run another application after it (it happens most often with IE5 as the second app), then if I quit from Fetch the 2nd application is also forced to quit (I get the Finder message telling me it has quit unexpectedly).
It's like Fetch is pulling the rug out from under the 2nd app.
Can you shed any light on this?
Config is a blue G3 running OS8.6.
Thanks.
