Fetch 4.03 not allowing access to html.folder (6 posts)

Can log into main directory and upload to it, but when I try to upload files to the html folder (yes, it's open) I get the message 'ERROR: Server does not believe you have permission to take that action with a Fetch icon.' I've reset permissions and tech support and web.com is able to upload to both. Powerbook G4 is running Mac OSX 4.0 so that I can continue to use Claris Home Page (which I actually like.) Any intermediary versions of Fetch that might work?

    Hi,

Thanks for reporting this problem. You might try Fetch 5.6, which you can download from http://fetchsoftworks.com/fetch/download/ .

If you still get the error could you choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu and post the content of that window? I'll see what I can figure out.

    Thanks,

Thanks, Jim: I did that and now I have another problem. When I downloaded 5.7 my license for 4.03 was revoked - so now I have 5.6 for just 15 days. It works terrifically, btw. Is there a way to fix the licensing? We've used Fetch since he was a brand new puppy - over the life of probably more than a dozen Macs! Thanks so much, Debra

Oh - and the problem was the fault of web.com/interland. They accidentally erased my entire site, had to restore from back-up on another server and forgot to give me user access to my html folder. An administrator is fixing it today. They are ridiculous. I need to switch to gandi.com!

    Hi,

I'm glad to hear that you found a solution to the problem.

You can purchase an upgrade to Fetch 5.6 if you like (it's $10), or go back to using Fetch 4.0.3. If you don't recall your serial number, please fill out the form at http://fetchsoftworks.com/fetch/serial

    Thanks,

I'll definitely do that. We have a newer version on my main computer - just not the one I use for making and editing web pages. 5.6 is awesome. Best, Debra
