Fetch 5.0 - quotation marks (2 posts)

On a G4 Powerbook with Tiger running, using Fetch 5.0, quotation marks in text files downloaded from the server are displayed as some kind of ascii character. Need help in correcting this. I've tried everthing I can think of.

Did not have this problem using Fetch version 4.01 on the same system.

If the files were uploaded by Fetch 4, with its "Translate ISO Characters" option, then the characters will be incorrect unless you also download them with Fetch 4. I would recommend turning off that option in your copies of Fetch 4, or switching to Fetch 5.

[We removed the Translate ISO Characters feature in Fetch 5 because it interfered with non-European languages.]

    Thanks,
