Hi jdaw1,
Thanks for that feedback. Responding to your specific comments:
* It is a bug that the Fetch Transcript window is opened when you start Fetch by opening a shortcut. I will try to fix that.
* The messy text is also a bug that I will try to fix.
* I will see if there is an easy way to have a larger progress indicator.
* I would like to bring back the progress indicator in the Fetch icon that appears in the Dock and in the Command-Tab app switcher, but I don't know when I will be able to do that.
Thanks,
Jim Matthews

Thank you.
If the on-window doing/not-doing is really clear (such as colour scheme = pale green ⇒ doing; colour scheme = grey ⇒ done) then the command-tab thing less important.
If you want to send me a simple draft of colour scheme business, or want me to do that for you, do contact me.

Thanks again for the feedback. My progress on Fetch has been slow lately, but I'm still working on my long to-do list for future versions.
Thanks,

Thanks for that screenshot. What version of macOS are you running?
Thanks,

Sorry, slow reply: macOS High Sierra, 10.13.6.

Every use of new Fetch entails my closing the log window. Please allow a repeat of the earlier request that the preference about no-log-window apply even when starting Fetch by opening a shortcut. Thank you.

Bonus request. If the expected time to finish is more than, say, three minutes, please could it show the expected time of finish? Thank you.

FYI, 5.8.1 wouldn’t install from 5.8’s install dialog. So downloaded afresh. (High Sierra 10.13.6.)
Also, 5.8.1 (5K1217) didn’t touch the above. E.g., http://www.jdawiseman.com/2020/20200601_Fetch_messy_text.png

Hi,
Thanks for that update. I'm sorry about the messy text problem. I think it only affects macOS 10.13 High Sierra, so until it's fixed I would recommend running Fetch 5.7.7 on 10.13.
Thanks,
Jim Matthews

I’ve reverted to 5.7.7, which has also fixed a just-started problem about uploads failing to complete.
If there should be a security reason to abandon 5.7.7, please say so here.
Thank you.

hello. I’ve just started on Version 5.8 (5K1127, Web Store), and have some requests that I believe simple.
• My tasks are simple: just moving files to my simple website (www.jdawiseman.com, if you care). So I don’t ever need the log window. Please could there be a setting “Show log window at startup”, which I could then uncheck?
• The text showing how much has been uploaded is messy if it is shorter than previous text. It doesn’t properly clean away the previous text. Small screen grab at http://www.jdawiseman.com/2019/20191210_Fetch_messy_text.png
• The icon showing how much is done is very small. Please could there be a much stronger visual sense of whether doing or finished? Perhaps, change the whole colour scheme from light grey to dark grey, or even to a pale green. Anything that makes a glimpse enough to know whether done.
• It used to be that the icon shown by command-tab showed whether doing or done, and if doing, what proportion done. Please could that excellent detail be retained?
Thank you.
