I downloaded the newest version of Fetch from the website, but I get an error when I try to unzip the package. I get - "Unable to expand "Fetch_5.8.zip" into Desktop. Error 2 - No such file or directory."

It looks like the download itself may be corrupt. I downloaded it multiple times and on 3 different Macs runnning Mojave. Same results on all 3 Macs.

    Hi,

I've had a few reports like this, while most people have no problem. So I'm not sure what's going on. Here is another link you could try:

    https://fetchsoftworks.sfo2.cdn.digitaloceanspaces.com/fetch/download/Fetch_5.8.zip

Let me know if that doesn't work.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

Could you try issuing this command in Terminal, and send me the output? It will download the Zip archive and compute an MD5 hash.

    curl https://fetchsoftworks.sfo2.cdn.digitaloceanspaces.com/fetch/download/Fetch_5.8.zip | md5

I would like to see if the hash matches what I'm seeing.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

That's a different hash than what I see; evidently you are getting a corrupted file. Do you get that same hash (starting with "a045") each time you try this? Are you going through a proxy server or VPN?

    Thanks,

I do not have a proxy server or VPN. The only thing I do have is that I use the Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 as my DNS for my network.

I did, however, try and use my Wireless Hot Spot using the cellular connection and downloaded Fetch 5.8 and that did work. My network at home is not a complex one, so I am not sure why the hash would have been altered in downloading the zip file. I have also had no problem with any other files that I download. So it is a mystery to me why this occurred with this specific file.

It looks like it worked now. So thanks for your help.

That is mysterious. I will keep an eye out for other reports, and try to get to the bottom of it.
