Fetch 5.6 is set for automatic upload formatting and to set permissions ofter uploading to 775. After copying Fetch from the disk image to another computer using sftp, it will not run unless I use chmod -R to change the permissions to 775. It looks as though Fetch is setting the permissions of the package but not of the files therein.

    Hi Charles,

Fetch does not set the permissions when uploading at all, the server sets the permissions of newly uploaded files and folders. All uploaded files and folders will get whatever permissions the server decides to give them. So Fetch is not responsible for any changed permissions you might have seen.

Generally you should not try to transfer Macintosh applications via FTP or SFTP without either zipping them first, or just transferring the disk image instead of the application. Packages that are not encapsulated inside something else often end up not working quite right after the transfer, as you've discovered.

    Thanks,
