Hello, I got a new mac with 10.5 on it and now I can not fetch to connect to my server. Dreamweaver connects without problems but fetch won't work even thought the info are the same for both connection. It used to work just find before I upgraded to Leopard.
Can someone help me to understand?

    Hi,

We'd like some more information to help diagnose the problem.

After you try to connect and you get an error message, could you please choose Fetch Transcript from the Window menu, copy the entire contents of the transcript window, and paste them into a reply to this message?

We'll take a look and try to figure out what's going on.

    Thanks,

The error message says: An FTP connection to "s7745.gridserver.com" could not be opened because the server could nt be found.

I had called my server company and since it's working with dreamweaver I was told that the problem was not on their hand.

Connecting to ftp.s7745.gridserver.com port 21 (Mac OS X firewall is off) (5/18/08 11:11:27 PM)

Connecting to s7745.gridserver.com port 21 (Mac OS X firewall is off) (5/18/08 11:12:47 PM)

I have tried two server. The first one used to work just fine until one day it stopped.

The second is the one that work in dreamweaver. Passive ftp is checked both in fetch and dreamweaver.

    Hi,

I have done some testing and the problem appears to be that there is no server named "s7745.gridserver.com" (or "ftp.s7745.gridserver.com"), which is why Fetch cannot connect. No program I tried can find a server with that address.

Please double-check the name of the server you are connecting to in Dreamweaver carefully and make sure that you are entering the correct name in Fetch - I suspect there may be a missing or incorrect number in what you are typing in Fetch.

If that does not help, please take a screenshot of the window where you enter the server information in Dreamweaver - after you have filled it out, but before you connect - and email it to:

    bb at fetchsoftworks dot com

And we'll take a look and try to figure out what else might be going wrong.

    Thanks,
