Fetch not respecting Unix LF when transferring files (2 posts)

    Hi,

For some reason, Fetch is no longer honouring Unix LF line endings when saving files back to a server.

This becomes apparent when working on Bash executable scripts, resulting in errors such as "/bin/bash^M: bad interpreter". No matter what settings I try, nothing works.

The same files from the same editors saves correctly on my other FTP client, but no matter what editor I use (BBEdit and VSCode currently) it only seems to be when using Fetch, and only since upgrading to 5.8.1.

Was on Catalina, now on Big Sur and no difference.

    Any tips?

    Hi Jay,

The next time this happens could you choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu and send me the contents at https://fetchsoftworks.com/fetch/feedback ? I'll see what I can figure out.

    Thanks,

    Jim Matthews
