Hi,
What editor are you using for editing the files?
Thanks,

Hi,
If you:
1) Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu
2) Click on the Security & Privacy icon
3) Click on the Privacy tab
4) Select "Automation" from the list on the leftDo you see Smultron listed on the right? If so, do you see Fetch listed under it, with a box checked to indicate that Smultron has permission to send Apple Events to Fetch?
Thanks,
Jim Matthews

Smultron is not listed at all in that window

Hi,
Have you asked Smultron support about this? It looks like their current release is Smultron 12, so it might be worth trying that.
Thanks,
Jim Matthews

Yes, am working with them also. I have downloaded Smultron 12 and installed it but it still does not show up in the Privacy window. Restarted the computer also, but no change.

Hi Walmar,
It may not need to show up in the Privacy list; it looks like Fetch does not use Apple Events to work with Smultron (it does use them to work with some other editors, such as BBEdit).
I just bought a copy of Smultron 12 and it's working with Fetch for me. One difference is that I'm running macOS 11 Big Sur, rather than macOS 10.14.6 Mojave. If I get a chance to set up a macOS 10.14 test machine I'll see if I can reproduce the problem there.
Thanks,
Jim Matthews

I'm having this problem with BBEdit (13.5.4) MacOS (10.14.6 Mojave) and Fetch (5.8.2). Everything worked perfectly in 5.8.1 but since updating I can't save a file I'm editing through Fetch. BBEdit is listed in automation and the box is checked.

Hi Quentin,
Have you tried restarting?

Doh!
Thanks Jim.

When I make changes to the files in Fetch 5.8.1, they do not save to the website. I have emptied the caches on the browsers, tried re-starting the computer (iMac OS 10.4.6), and nothing works. The same thing happens with an earlier version of Fetch and also with another ftp app Cyberduck.
