fetch problems with AOL dialup connection (2 posts)

    hello,

    when i used fetch to connect to my ftp server, it looks like it is connecting fine, but then the dog just keeps running when it gets to getting the file list. nothing else happens. the dog just runs and tuns for a few minutes, then it disconnects. when this happens, I am using a dialup connection via AOL. i have tried it on a different computer on a DSL connection and it works fine. i tried both computers on the same day and the same ftp server.

    What could this be? Is this some sort of AOL conflict?

    AOL has made it necessary to check the "Use passive mode transfers (PASV)" box in the Firewall section of Fetch Preferences. Does that work for you?
