I have the latest version of Fetch, and it worked last time I used it. Today when I open the app, I get this: Fetch Shortcuts could not be saved because an error has occurred. Mac OS error -8796. If I click the OK button, Fetch closes. If I leave the error open, after a minute or two another error opens, The action could not be completed because an error has occurred. Mac OS error -8791. This follows after a reinstall of Fetch.

    Hi,

Thanks for reporting this problem. To figure out what's happening I'd like to take a look at the Fetch.log file. To find Fetch.log:

    1) Choose Go to Folder… from the Go menu in the Finder
    2) Enter:

    ~/Library/com.fetchsoftworks.Fetch/Logs

    and click Go

You can email the file to bugs@fetchsoftworks.com .

    Thanks,

    Jim Matthews

fetch error shortcut cannot be used because an error has occurred (Mac OS error -25293.)

Fetch has always worked on my mac until 2 days ago--now I get the error every time Fetch starts, and I have to manually enter the hostname, username, password (it works then). I also see locks next to the hostname folder (www.wmich.edu) and the username folder (MusicGenEd) as well as all folders associated with www.wmich.edu (I am a music professor at Western Michigan University who has used Fetch for a very long time--it has never acted up until now, and I did not upgrade my OS or anything like that)

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,

That is an error from the macOS keychain. Please do the following to check for and repair problems with the keychain:

    * Quit Fetch, if it's running.
    * In the Finder, choose Utilities from the Go menu
    * Open the Keychain Access application
    * Control-click the lock in the upper left corner of the window to lock the login keychain
    * Control-click the lock again to unlock the login keychain (you will be prompted for your login password)

Let me know if you're still having problems after doing this.

    Thanks,

    Jim Matthews
