We don't know of any widespread problem with Fetch on 10.3.4; we use that combination all the time. So it is likely that the problem is specific to your situation, and I'd need more information to help figure out what is going wrong and how to fix it.
The two pieces of information that would be most helpful right away would be:
1) Do you have Norton Internet Security 2.0 or Norton Personal Firewall 2.0 installed?
2) Could you choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu in Fetch and post the contents after you see an error message?
Thanks,
Jim Matthews

Dear Jim Mathews
Firstly, we are not using any Norton programs.
Secondly - follows the Transcript you asked for.
Result is files with question marks in them that do not contain the data uploaded. Using the new other ftp client, it all goes ok. Kindly advise if there is a fix :Fetch 4.0.3 System 0x1034 Serial FETCHED001-5GD2-N7QD TR

It looks like the FTP server (or an intrusion detection firewall in front of it) is blocking the SITE DIRSTYLE command that Fetch uses to tell the server how to format its file lists. And by default the server is using a non-standard format that Fetch does not understand.
You can work around that problem by choosing "Refresh File List" from the Directories menu once or twice. Let me know if that does not clean up the file list, or if there are other problems.
Thanks,
Jim Matthews

We have been using Fetch for years. It ha stopped working ever since upgrading our computers to OS 10.3.4. Produces empty files and error messages from server. Complicated fixes described in your Help Forum is not a suitable option. If you ever have a patch that fixes the problem, please let me know. We enjoy the simple, easy interface of Fetch ! Most other ftp clients are horrible. We are now using a new program made especially for OSX, found on the web this morning that is great :
transmit2 made by Panic.
