File names being changed during upload (3 posts)

I'm trying to upload a phpBB3 message board system to my website. It all uploads fine, but the files have been renamed in the process, so that when I try to access the directory via my browser, which I have to do to install the software, my access is denied, apparently because the browser is looking for the index file which has of course been renamed. All the files are now called things like "ftp2mJpiq"instead of things like "index.php" which they're called before they leave my desktop?
I'd really appreciate any help or suggestions?

    Hi,

When you upload don't set the "If a file already exists:" menu to "Pick a different name". On some servers that option results in files getting random names like ftp2mJpiq.

This is such a common problem that the current version of Fetch dims out the "Pick a different name" choice.

    Thanks,
