File Names Changing (4 posts)

    I have a need to copy files beginning with a period to my desktop. However, Fetch is changing them to begin with a _ character instead.

    I am using a Macintosh OS 8.6 and I have used the latest Fetch and version 3.0.3. They both do the same thing.

    My transcript is below. The first part of the transcript I used GET to get one file .aLz on my desktop it is now named _aLz The next test I tried GEtting the entire folder and before it finished I got this message - ETR not understood. Looking at the folder all the files have a _ in place of the . (period at the beginning)

    Fetch 3.0.3 made that substitution but Fetch 4.0.3 does not, so I would recommend using Fetch 4.0.3 (which you can download from http://fetchsoftworks.com . Let me know if you still see the problem with Fetch 4.0.3.
