Most files should be transfered in Raw Data format (the exceptions are plain text files, such as HTML files, Perl scripts, etc.). If you use Raw Data format to upload, and Binary mode to download, Fetch will not touch the file contents, so what you have on the Mac will be exactly what you have on the server.

We are having trouble with files losing their format when we transfer though the ftp. Even trying to open them in the same program that they were created in (wordperfect) isn't working.
What preference settings should we be using if we intend to transfer files between mac and pc? The pc ftp program we are using is WS_FTP.
