You do not want to set the "If a file altready exists:" menu to "Put a new file with a new name" in the Put sheet. Instead, set it to "Replace existing file."
When that menu is set to "Put a new file with a new name" Fetch uses a special command that your server does not implement correctly, resulting in the strange file names you have seen.
Thanks,

I am trying to post a quicktime movie to an ftp site. When it's done posting it is a document with the title 'ftpTWxjth' (or something similar) instead of the quicktime icon and movie name. I have tried using "automatic" and "raw data" options when putting. Any suggestions?
