Fetch 3.0.3 works great for uploads (put file), but on the few occasions I download a text file (text or html), it inserts an extra return at the end of each line, so

    line1
    line2
    line3

    comes out looking like

    line1

    line2

    line3

This even happens if I upload a file then download it immediately in the same fetch session.

I don't see a setting or preference to fix this. What am I doing wrong?

You might try upgrading to Fetch 4.0.1; let me know if the problem persists after that.

I'm seeing the same behavior when running 4.0.2. Seems to happen on files created on a Windows machine and then downloaded to my Mac. I looked for a configuration setting for preserving Windows-style CR/LF combinations and couldn't find one. Any hints? thanks...

I'd suggest trying the Text and Binary download modes (rather than Automatic). Does either of these work better than the other?

    Thanks,

I have encountered this same issue. In version 4.0.2 this extra line behavior happens regardless of setting. In 4.0.3 it occurs for automatic or text, but not for binary.

    ENVIRONMENT:

I am downloading an index.html file in OS X 10.2.2 with all the latest patches from a UNIX server running IRIX64 vega 6.5 07091542 IP27.

Downoading with a different OS X client does not add lines nor does usingCuteFTP on Win2K. File is being viewed locally using BBEdit 7.0.1 and 6.5.3. When using "Edit file with BBEdit" or "View text file" remotely, the file is also fine.

force_quit: Would you mind downloading the file twice, once with Text mode and once with Binary, putting the two files in a StuffIt archive and emailing it to support@fetchsoftworks.com? I'd like to figure out what's going on.

    Thanks,

I just wanted to join in on this and provide the following information (should it help):

    a) Getting ".html" files from my server to my Desktop *does not* add extra CR's between lines

    b) Getting ".php" files from my server to my Desktop *does* add extra CR's between lines

    c) Getting a folder with ".php" files inside it from my server to my Desktop *does not* add extra CR's between lines of the ".php" files

    Kind of curious,
    BD

BD: I'm curious too! Could you do what I asked force_quit -- download a .php file in Text and Binary mode, bundle them in a StuffIt archive and email it to support@fetchsoftworks.com? I'd like to see what's inside those files.

    Thanks,
