when i get a file i get a text edit window with image of my web site and not my html---have read that text edit doesnt work but textwrangler will work--i have to down load textwrangler .how do i proceed

Hi,

What program did you originally use to create your webpage files? You may want to consider using it again.

You should not use TextEdit for editing your webpage files as discussed here: http://fetchsoftworks.com/fetch/faq#cant-choose-text-edit

While there are many good text editors for the Macintosh - several are mentioned in the link above. But TextWrangler is a free; there is no reason to put off downloading it and using it, so that's what we'd recommend. It will let you edit your HTML directly.

You can download it from here: http://www.barebones.com/products/textwrangler/

You can change which program your downloaded files open with by following the instructions in the changing the application a file opens with help topic (or click the link here).

Fetch also has an Edit feature that allows you to make changes to a file in another application and save the changes back to the server automatically. See the Edit help topic for more information.
