and I have also searched the FAQ fairly well for solutions. I have cycled the PASV selection in preferences too. I am trying to connect to my office machine (running the lasted MAC OS X, behind its firewall, with PASV enabled in network proxies preferences). I was able to connect and transfer files a few times...now the problem just doesn't go away, and the file list never comes. I've used SmartFTP on a windows machine and am able to connect to my office machine without any problem. PLEASE HELP FETCH SUPPORT! thanks - fetch registered user.

I'd be interested in seeing the contents of the Fetch Transcript window after trying to connect twice, once with PASV checked and one without.

If you have the OS X firewall enabled on the office machine I wouldn't expect it to work with PASV enabled. Another thing to try is turning the firewall off on the office machine.

    Thanks,

Thanks for the quick reply Jim. Ok, here is the log of my latest attempt to access my office machine using fetch 4.0.3:

I went ahead and logged into my office machine from a windows 2000 machine using SmartFTP, and the log is below. It was a successful log in and the file list did come up. By the way, I have tried PASV both selected and unselected in Fetch preferences and have done restarts and all the rest. Here is the SmartFTP log:

Oh...I also just tried it with PASV not selected in the fetch preferences, and it worked. Here is the transcript, and the file list came right up.

do you think i should just run fetch without PASV selected? Thanks

Yes. When there's a firewall at the server PASV won't work, so it's necessary to uncheck that option.

    Thanks,
