We are having a problem uploading Pdf's to our FTP site. We have three machines all Mac G4's. All three machines are running fetch 4.0.3. One out of the three machines is running Mac OS 10.2.6 and the other two are running Mac OS 9.
For some reason when the OS 9 machines upload pdf's the file becomes blank, meaning that when the pdf is downloaded off of the site and opened it is just a blank white sheet instead of the file that was uploaded. The file opens up in Acrobat and the pages are blank.
this does not happen when the files are uploaded through our machine running OSX.
Please if you can help us out on this matter we would greatly appreciate it.

Some OS 9 machines are misconfigured to treat PDF files as text files, and it sounds like that might be the case here. I would recommend choosing "Suffix Mapping..." from the Customize menu in Fetch on the OS 9 machine. If Fetch is using Internet Config it will then run Internet Config for you; otherwise it will show you Fetch's list of suffix mappings. Either way you want to scroll down to the .pdf entry and make sure it's set to treat files as Binary.

Let me know if that doesn't fix the problem.

    Thanks,

    Thanks Jim,
Its up and working fine, I just hope we dont encounter any problems down the road as far as PDF's are considered.
