    I just did a first-time install, then re-install, but my Fetch help pages are blank and the search doesn't return any Fetch-relevant help links.

    any ideas what it could be?

    thanks in advance for any guidance

    Hi,

    That's not something we've had reported to us before. The first thing I would try is restarting your Mac and seeing if that fixes the problem; let us know if it does or not.

    Also, while we can continue to investigate if that doesn't work, you can view all the Fetch help pages on the web at:

    Thanks,

    Thanks Scott,

    rebooting the Mac didn't improve the situation. When I open "Fetch Help" I get a blank page.

    Hi Les,

    Thanks for trying that.

    Some more questions for you... which version of Mac OS X are you using?

    Can you view any application's help? Or is it just Fetch that has the problem? (For instance, try viewing Safari's help.)

    If it is just Fetch that has the problem, we'd like to see a copy of your system.log, which may contain errors explaining what is going on. Could you please do the follow?

    * Quit Fetch.
    * Open Fetch again.
    * Go the the Help menu, and choose Fetch Help.
    * Then switch to the Finder.
    * Go to the Go menu, and choose "Go to Folder".
    * Enter "/var/log" (without the quotes).
    * Located the system.log file.

    Please email the system.log file to:

    bb at fetchsoftworks dot com

    Thanks,

    Hi Scott,

    OS X version is (er, ahem) 10.3.9 (sorry!).

    I can see help for other apps (e.g. Safari).

    system.log is in your inbox

    thanks for your help

    Hi Les,

    Thanks for the system log. I agree, it doesn't have any information relating to this problem.

    I have double-checked and Fetch Help does display on my 10.3.9 setup.

    Please try the following:

    * Quit Fetch.
    * Quit the Help Viewer.
    * In the Finder, go to the Go menu, and choose Home.
    * Open the Library folder.
    * Open the Caches folder.
    * You should see a com.apple.helpui folder. Put it in the Trash.
    * If there is a "Help Viewer" folder in there, put it in the Trash, too. (Don't worry, these folders don't contain any actual help files.)
    * Run Fetch again.
    * Go to the Help menu, and choose Fetch Help.

    Let me know if this fixes the problem or not.

    Thanks,
