I'm new, so bear with me.

I uploaded a file called compass.ppt to the public folder in fetch. So when I select GET INFO, it gives me this location:

    ftp://impactdc:@ftp.impactdc.com/public_ftp/compass.ppt

But when I paste that into my browser, it says, "you do not have permission to access compass.ppt.

So I checked the permissions and ithe box for "read" is checked under all 3 categories.

Why can't I access this? Did I put it in the wrong place? How can I make it so that others can view this file?

    Hi,

It looks like even though the folder is called "public_ftp" the folder cannot be accessed anonymously, that is, without a username and password. That's why the browser is giving you an error.

Since every server is different, we can't tell you exactly where you should put the file so that others can view it. You should ask your server administrator where you can put them for public access and what address to use to access them.

    Thanks,
