how to export fetch passwords and ftp dates? (2 posts)

    hello everybody,
    i need really urgently help. my new mac just arrived and i need to transfor all ftp files to the new one.

    How can i do that? i couldnt find any option to export the passwords and ftp data..

    Hi Phil,

    Do you mean you want to transfer your Fetch shortcuts from one Mac to another?

    If so, see the Moving shortcuts to another Macintosh topic in Fetch Help (or click the link here) for step-by-step instructions on how to do that.

    Note that this will not transfer your passwords, because they are stored securely in the Macintosh keychain and that cannot just be copied from Mac to Mac like the Fetch shortcuts file.

    The "moving shortcuts" topic has some advice about moving passwords, but usually it's simplest just to re-enter the passwords on the new Mac. If you do not remember what your passwords are, the Password FAQ tells you how to view the passwords for your shortcuts.
