Hi,
To update from one version of Fetch to another I would first move the old version to the trash, and then copy the new one. Does that work?
Thanks,
Jim Matthews

The uninstall option is not in Fetch? When launching Fetch Installer GUI to install it manually, the installation is very clear from an older Fetch update to Fetch 5.7.5. It seems to me it uninstall the old one first. Can you tell what “1. Drag this Fetch icon to the application folder” exactly does beside copy it over to application folder?

Dragging the Fetch icon to the Applications folder simply copies the Fetch application into that folder. If you had an older Fetch application there, the Finder will ask you if you want to replace it. To uninstall Fetch, drag it to the Trash.

I installed Fetch 5.7 with educational license; before the update, I removed Fetch 5.7 from /Applications, then copied Fetch 5.7.5 to /Applications (I used command line), the administrator user it maintains the license/serial of Fetch but the regular user does not maintain the license/serial. Is that because it's single user license, when the regular user launch Fetch 5.7.5, it prompts for license key? multi-user license will not prompt for key?
Thanks!

Hi,
You should follow the instructions at this link to make your license available to all the users on the machine:

I am a professionål writer with a inclination toward the spiritual. My pen name is J. Thomas Ford, which is also the name of my website. Today is my first attempt at using fetch from this computer and I have no idea what I am doing?
I went through my friend (Captain D) but was unable to upload Fetch and use my own machine to manipulate J.Thomas Ford.com. So, I'm excited to be close to being able to add to my site on my own. -

Hi,
I would recommend choosing "Fetch Help" from the Help menu and reading some of the help topics, particularly under "Using Fetch". Let me know if you have any questions.

Hello,
I would like to know how to use command line to update a old Fetch to a new version of Fetch.
I was trying to update to Fetch 5.7.5 from Fetch 5.3.1 on Mac OS X 10.7, I run the following commands and getting some error:
# PKGDIR="Fetch Installer"
# PKGNAME="Fetch.app"
# ditto -rsrcFork /Volumes/"$PKGDIR"/"$PKGNAME" /Applications/"$PKGNAME"
ditto: /Applications/Fetch.app/Contents/Library/Automator/Delete Fetch Items.action/Contents/Resources/Dutch.lproj/ConfirmDeleteFetchItemsPanel.nib: Is a directory
.
.
.
ditto: /Applications/Fetch.app/Contents/Library/Automator/Upload Files.action/Contents/Resources/Swedish.lproj/main.nib: Is a directory
All of the errors throwing because the old version of Fetch 5.3.1 has the file directories, but on the new Fetch 5.7.5 are files
