I am using a cable modem to upload thousands of small files to my website with Fetch. Unfortunately, my server company, www.doteasy.com, seems to use Windows servers running Serve-U 3.0 for Winsock, and it drops connections, times out, bogs down -- you name it.

Are there any settings in Fetch that might mitigate or clear up these problems completely?

It might help to toggle the "Use passive mode transfers (PASV)" setting in the Firewall section of Fetch Preferences. If that does not help could you email bugs @ fetchsoftworks.com and mention that you're having trouble uploading thousands of small files?

    Thanks,

I've tried the PASV setting both ways, but it doesn't much seem to matter. I'd contact "Bugs" if I thought it was a problem with Fetch, but I'm virtually certain that it is a problem with the server. Fetch doesn't know that I'm uploading hundreds or thousands of files, it knows only what is in the directory it's working on, right? Sometimes the upload quits after 5 or fewer files. Much less frequently, it can upload as many as 170 files before conking out.

    Thanks anyway.
