Hi,
Have you tried Fetch 5.7.3? You can download a trial copy from http://fetchsoftworks.com
Thanks,

I'm using Fetch 5.6 on Mac OSX and I've just encountered this problem trying to access a file on someone else's FTP site. I've gone into the folder they told me to and I get:
Fetch could not get the file list because the FTP
server sent an unexpected response.
Check the Fetch Transcript window for more information.
Server responded: "Fol-al: No such file or directory"What does it mean?

Hi,
You might try unchecking the "USE 'LIST -al' command to reveal hidden items" checkbox in the Miscellaneous section of Fetch Preferences. Does that help?
Thanks,
Jim Matthews

Thanks Jim,
I tried that, but it made no difference. I got the same response.

Could you choose Fetch Transcript from the Window menu after you get this error and post the contents of that window, either here or at http://fetchsoftworks.com/fetch/feedback ?
Thanks,
Jim Matthews

It suddenly worked! Maybe I just had to wait a bit for unchecking USE 'LIST -al' command to reveal hidden items.
Thanks

I'm glad to hear that! Let me know if you run into any other problems.

I'm on a Mac OS X 10.7.4 using Fetch 5.3.1. I create a folder on my client's ftp site, upload the files to the folder, and when it's finished, I usually open the new folder just to view the contents and make sure they are there. Sometimes I get this message:
Fetch could not get the file list because the FTP
server sent an unexpected response.
Check the Fetch Transcript window for more information.
Server responded: "Jol-al: No such file or directory"
I have to ask someone at my client's office to delete the folder for me, since I can't. Hyphens and underlines in the file names don't seem to be an issue, since I can access other folk's files with similar names.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
