Fetch comes with a few example scripts, and there are example statements in the Scripting topic in Fetch Help. Other than that I'd recommend asking on an AppleScript mailing list; I know that Apple has one, and there's one called MACSCRPT at listserv.dartmouth.edu.

Other than the snippits on your message board, are there some examples of AppleScript doing common fetch tasks the right way, with error checking and so on, that I might study to learn both?
